Dr. Saurabh Chandra is a dynamic and extensively trained orthopedic surgeon with more than 14 years of experience in the field. His area of expertise include Computer navigated knee and hip replacement, revision arthroplasty, hip and knee preservation procedures, pediatric trauma, complex and neglected trauma, sports injury and multi-ligament reconstruction. He is expert in managing orthopedic emergencies and cases of polytrauma, fractures among children, soft tissue injuries, septic arthritis and osteomyelitis. He has special interest in reconstructive tumor surgery and musculoskeletal problems in post-polio and cerebral palsy. He does a lot of redo trauma cases. He also operates on teenagers with problems like hip dysplasia, when the hip doesn’t fit properly into the socket, or slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE), when the growth plate slips off the end of the thighbone. He also has significant experience in patients with sickle cell disease where joints are damaged. He attended and presented papers in international and national orthopaedic conferences. He has published paper in indexed international journal.
He has been trained at the reputed National Institute of Medical Sciences, Jaipur. He has worked in Delhi Government hospitals like Sanjay Gandhi and Ambedkar hospital with large amount of trauma case load thus adding to his skills.
He developed an interest in knee and shoulder arthroscopic procedures and sports injuries as well as complex joint replacements of hips and knees. He worked in the arthroplasty and arthroscopy unit at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurgaon from 2014 to 2016.
Thereafter, he worked at W-Pratiksha hospital, Gurgaon from 2016 to 2020, where he handled more than 100 joint replacement procedures of varying complexities every month, thus giving him immense experience in the field. For the past 5 years he has learned the nuances of Computer navigated hip and knee joint replacements with Stryker NAV-3 computer navigation system. Thereafter, he has been handling the arthroplasty and arthroscopy unit at Apollo Spectra hospital, Gurgaon. He has harnessed a rich experience of more than 6000 joint replacements and more than 3000 arthroscopic procedures into developing an advanced practice of high-end orthopedic surgeries.
